OVERVIEW

The G.H.Y.S. offers three distinct programs:

The Skills Link Program, which aims to provide participants with a core set of life and employability skills to enable them to find and maintain employment.

The Community Assistance Program, which aims to help youth enhance their quality of life and enable them to participate more fully in their communities.

The Moving Forward Community Assistance Program, which aims to help adults enhance their quality of life and enable them to participate more fully in their communities. Although this program has a similar structure to the Community Assistance Program, there are some notable differences: it is oriented to specific needs of adults such as money management, anger management and applications for disability benefits. The program caters to a different age group and the main focus of service is counselling and coaching. This program is delivered in the North Vancouver office.

"When I applied for Youth S.E.A.R.Ch. I was dealing with a lot of issues: unemployment, depression and stress. The program helped me to make friends and feel free talking to strangers. It also taught me how to behave myself at a workplace and at the end I was rewarded with a job :) The staff at Youth S.E.A.R.Ch. are perfect! I felt like I was talking to my friends and they helped with everything at anytime. I think the program can help a lot of people who really need some guidance in where to go in life."
